Predefined project 4
By Order No РД-13-76 of 24.07.2015 of the Head of the Programme Operator of Programme BG 07 „Initiatives for public health” the implementation of predefined project 4 „ Improved quality of prenatal diagnosis and neonatal care“ has started.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to reducing the number of children with congenital diseases and reducing child mortality.
The specific objectives of the project are:
Improved methods for prenatal diagnosis;
Improving knowledge and skills of physicians - specialists in obstetrics and gynecology in the field of prenatal diagnosis and fetal morphology;
Improved neonatal care.
The project activities aim at:
Improving quality of prenatal diagnosis to reduce existing regional differences in quality by providing equipment and training of specialists in each of the 28 districts in Bulgaria.
Improving neonatal care quality through modernization of neonatal care wards in the country.
The project provides training in fetal morphology/ultrasound in obstetrics/ at two levels:
Exchange of best practices: 2 experts in ultrasound in obstetrics from Norway will exchange practices with leading Bulgarian experts in ultrasound in obstetrics within five days in Bulgaria.
Training of 100 specialists in obstetrics and gynecology by key Bulgarian experts in the field of fetal morphology within 7 days divided into courses by 5 people in each course /total 20 courses/.
Target groups and final beneficiaries of the project:
Pregnant women;
Newborns;
Physicians - specialists in obstetrics and gynecology.
The project’s total value is BGN 12,774,308.06 BGN (€ 6 531 400) and its term of execution is 30 April 2017.
