By signing a contract for grant No BG 07-PDPC 02 of 26.11.2014 between the Ministry of Health as a Programme Operator and the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases the implementation of predefined project “Improving supervision of vaccine-preventable diseases: developing of a model of web-based immunization registry” has started
This project’s main objective is to contribute to improving management in health care and quality of the national immunization programme by creating a working model of web-based immunization registry.
The specific objectives of the project are:
Facilitating vaccination by reducing document records.
Finding of unimmunized and insufficiently immunized people.
Effective monitoring of vaccine- immunization status of migrant children.
Dissemination of information concerning introduction of new vaccines, changes in the immunization calendar and timely recommendations for vaccination.
Improving monitoring on the adverse events following immunizations.
The project activities aim at:
Successful approval of the Immunization registry in the health care system and proposal for specific legislative changes that will ensure its good functioning and the possibility it to be applied and used throughout the country and after completion of the project.
Following the implementation of web-based immunization registry nationwide the percentage of initially immunized and quick and adequate response to emergencies is expected to increase.
Target groups and final beneficiaries of the project:
4500 GPs and health care workers who give immunizations.
This part of society to be immunized and protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The project’s total value is 299,183.32 BGN (€ 152 970) and its term of execution is 30 April 2017.
